The goal of JAPAN Display is to produce small/medium AMOLED Displays for the smartphone, handheld and tablet-pc market.
These companies will invest close to USD 2.6 Billion.
Toshiba Corp, Hitachi Ltd and Sony Corp would combine small and medium display businesses to create Japan Display and the Japanese government would provide the needed capital. On November 14, INCJ, Sony Corp, Toshiba Corp and Hitachi Ltd announced that the contract to transfer the small and medium display businesses, to Japan Display was signed.
