International Optical Convergence EXPO that International LED &OLED EXPO 2018, Korean biggest LED, OLED festival, was integrated with PHOTONICS KOREA, was held at KINTEX on Jun. 26th which was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Korea association for photonics industry development, the LED Industry Forum, and KOTRA, and organized by EXPONU Co., Ltd. In the opening ceremony, more than 100 persons concerned from Korea and overseas attended such as Jang Byeongwan who is a member of the National Assembly, Mun Seunguk who is the head of Industry Innovation Growth Room of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Song Yumyeon who is the deputy mayor of Buchoen-si, Lee Taesik who is the vice-president of KOREA, Lee Jaehyeong who is the a president of the Korea association for photonics industry development, Kim Yeongseon who is the director of the Korea photonics technology institute, Lee Hakju who is the CEO of Bucheon Industry Promotion Foundation, Lee Eunmi who is the CEO of GLVISION CO., LTD., Yoon Huijong who is the CEO of GlowOne, the president of PIDA Kenneth Tai, and Swisslaser-Net Christoph Harder who is a doctor.
Mun Seunguk who is the head of Industry Innovation Growth Room of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said through a congratulatory address, "In the photonics industry, everything is connected and micro LED called as a next-generation source of light AND UVLED emerged as a next-generation medical device is creating future food while we embrace an opportunity of rebound as the fourth industry revolution went serious" and "We will do our best to support the development of key technology related to optical convergence by investing in micro LED, smart lighting and high power laser capable of securing unrivaled competitiveness so as to preoccupy a new market."
The 16th international LED & OLED EXPO this year is integrated with PHOTONICS KOREA, and held as 'International Optical Convergence EXPO. It is held in over 600 booths of about 260 companies in 14 countries, including LED, OLED, optical communication, optical instrument, lighting related to LASER, equipment, parts, materials and convergence. It is expected to be a festival that exchanges will be made over various aspects by export consultation with overseas buyers to check the current address of the photonics industry such as LED, OLED, optical communication and LASER and to secure global competitiveness, LED industry forum and a briefing session for spread LED lighting supply.
In this year, Korean and overseas companies participated in the exhibition, such as DB Lightec, LUMENS, YUYANG DNU, CLARUS KOREA, RF semi, Korea Semiconductor Illumination, Techen, J-LIGHTING, HAECHAN, MEAN WELLENTERPRISES from Taiwan, EVERFINE from China and BJB from German and are showing their products.
In addition, the exhibition constituted a hall for achievement of research development within the exhibition center and showed achievement of research development of each organization and participating companies. The participating businesses are 『LED system lighting 2.0 technology development business』 and 『OLED lighting industry cluster construction business』, companies are participating in 『Bucheon city joint hall』, 『Future LED lighting fusion hall』 and 『Smart LED lighting fusion hall』.
Along with that, it is expected to receive responses from industry practitioners and officials by setting special events such as a LED industry forum 2018 which prospects the industry trend of LED industry, an export consultation that is proceeded with practical overseas buyer through KOREA trade building, proceeding the export consultation for 3days by inviting 150 overseas buyers through the overseas marketing center of the Korea Mining Industry Promotion Association and government award for excellent company of the 11th new technology development and a briefing session for spread LED lighting supply in public institutions and local governments will be held.
LED industry forum 2018 held
At the LED industry forum proceeded from Jun. 26th to 28th, people will have a moment to hear experts' opinions about current state and prospect on the overall related industry such as human centric lighting(light and people centered, convergent lighting), smart home city realization, lighting fusion platform, next-generation semiconductor laser technology, smart energy and LED lighting fusion symposium, with a theme of 'toward innovation beyond LED optical convergence.
2018 optical convergence industry development forum held
The 2018 optical convergence industry development forum proceeded on Jun. 26th, will provide the trend of the latest technology market such as optical convergence technology and fourth industrial revolution, overseas market entry power, current status of proceeding and plan for legislation on optical convergence technology development and support for establishment of foundation, future new industry creation plan for optical convergence technology application, and people will have a moment to hear experts' opinions on the current status and prospect of the future technology of optical electronics industry.
Various special events
The organizer of the exhibition has hosted an export consultation with overseas buyers invited through KOTRA overseas trade building and another export consultation with overseas buyers invited through the overseas marketing center of the Korea association for photonics industry development on 26th, and is providing the best business market place and networking for active market development and improvement of business achievement.
Through the 11th government award for excellent companies of new technology development sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Bucheon-si and KOTRA, the exhibition tried to encourage companies to develop new technologies, targeting Korean companies with excellent technologies by selecting companies which tried to develop new technologies and carrying out government award. The Presidential prize in this year was awarded to GLVISION CO.,LTD., the Prime minister prize to MPNICS Co., Ltd., GlowOne Co., Ltd., the price of Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy to SOLU M Co., Ltd., LG Innotek, ICEPIPE Co., Ltd., ALTech Co., Ltd., TOOTECH Co., Ltd. and Euro Vision Laser Co., Ltd., and the Bucheon mayor prize to INU hi-tek Co., Ltd. and PDI Co., Ltd., the prize of KOTRA CEO to DONGYANG ELECTRICITY INC. and Postek Co., Ltd. In addition, the exhibition has set up a PR hall targeting the awarded companies within the exhibition center, and is providing visitors something to see.
