Twin International Conferences Highlight Upcoming LED/FPD EXPO
Vienna, VA – April 26, 2006 -- A unique gathering of industry and thought leaders in two of the world’s most dynamic technology industries – LED displays and flat panel displays – is expected to be a major draw to LED EXPO 2006 and International Flat Panel Display (FPD) 2006. The two shows will run concurrently at KINTEX, Korea from May 17-20.
This is the second year the two synergistic shows will run together and the first year that an International FPD Conference will complement the annually anticipated LED EXPO Conference as an event attraction.
“Korea is a major player in both LED and FPD industries,” said Ok Gyun Mun, Secretary General of the EXPO Secretariat. “Korean companies account for more than 40% of worldwide LCD production and the Korean LED industry continues to make dramatic progress in display, automotive, construction and architectural applications. We have invited key local industry leaders to participate in this year’s seminars and they will be joined by international experts from the USA, Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia.”
The LED program will focus on issues related to standardization, packaging, and power systems. The FPD conference will present design and manufacturing advances made in the rapidly emerging TFT and OLED technologies. In a recent CNN report, OLEDs were listed 17th among the most important 25 technology development in the past 25 years, ahead of innovations such as high-definition television, voicemail and the space shuttle. Standard setting and intellectual property laws relating to FPDs will also be addressed at the conference.
Mun reports early exhibitor and conference registrations are up significantly this year for both the LED and FPD EXPO. For more information about either event go to www.ledexpo.com or www.fpdexpo.net.
