Panasonic Idemitsu lighting (PIOL) announced that they improved the efficiency of an OLED lighting panel to 128lm/Watt. To reach this goal the compony change the substrate under the phosphor powders into hemisphere lenses that are highly reflective.
The panels which are available from PIOL are only 2.1 mm thick with a lighting efficiency of 30 lm/W. Color Temperature is 3000K. The goal is to produce OLED lighting panels with a efficiency of 100lm/W in 2015, and 130 lm/W in 2018. "We have been born from joint venture project between Panasonic which is total lighting solution company and Idemitsu Kosan which is one of the most advanced OLED material manufacture in order to offer “Elegant and Advanced” lighting solutions.
