E3 Displays Launches U.S.-Based Flat Panel Display Manufacturing Operations

E3 Displays, a new U.S.-based flat-panel-display manufacturing start-up, announced last week the opening of its Tempe, Arizona-based manufacturing facility located at TJM Electronics Associates. According to the report by the Society for Information Display (SID), E3 Displays designs and manufactures ruggedized, optically enhanced flat-panel-display systems for both commercial and industrial markets, including applications in military systems, avionics, marine navigation and instrumentation, medical equipment, industrial equipment, and specialized consumer-electronics systems. First customer evaluation kits are available for immediate delivery to selected customers, and volume production will begin once customer qualifications have been completed.

"Our interactions with customers convinced us that we could contribute significant innovation and value by incorporating manufacturing with our existing flat panel display engineering services business," stated Chuck Rahrig, co-founder and CEO of E3 Displays, in a press release. "This expansion broadens our ability to meet emerging application requirements for small- to medium-sized businesses as well as Fortune 500 customers."

Rahrig added that E3 Displays will focus on filter-glass bonding and optical enhancements, but also will work with customers to assist in the selection, optimization and integration of a flat-panel display into their final product.
