LG Display introduces Ultra High Definition (UHD) public display technology at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2013 trade show. On exhibit will be two world’s first products, an 84-inch UHD Public Display and 84-inch UHD Interactive Whiteboard, highlighting the company’s leadership in high resolution products for the public display market.
“LG Display has always been at the forefront of innovation with groundbreaking technologies like IPS and WRGB OLED, and we are now proud to bring our next innovation to the public display industry with UHD technology, opening a new era for high-definition public displays,” said Mr. Joon Jun, Vice President and Head of LG Display’s Public Display Division. “Recognizing the public display sector’s tremendous potential, we will remain aggressive in delivering new cutting-edge technologies that set the standard for the field.”
84-inch UHD Public Display
During ISE 2013, LG Display will exhibit the world’s first 84-inch UHD Public Display, providing a perfect solution for department stores, airport information screens, and outdoor advertisements. At 3840×2160, UHD utilizes an incredible 8 million pixels or four times the resolution of existing Full HD. The IPS technology and 500 nit high-brightness ensure wide viewing clarity and life-like images even from far distances while Local Dimming technology reduces power consumption 20% by turning off the darker parts of a panel’s backlights.
