Samsung Electronics said on March 19th that it had won the first OLED TV certification on picture quality from Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a US-based product safety testing and certification organization.

The local electronics giant has added that the first OLED TV certification on picture quality performance is another proof of globally-received Samsung TV’s quality.

To this certification process, UL has first introduced ‘Emotional Image Quality Evaluation’ that helps assess the unique picture quality of OLED TV.

The new evaluation started to be used as an international standard since 2010 to more precisely measure in-depth color expression, brightness and others.

An OLED panel that emits light by itself without a source of illumination is quick in the response speed to provide a sharp image without motion blurring or overlapping issues even when watching action movies and sports.

Meanwhile, the local home appliances giant already won the first UHD TV certifications on picture quality performance from world-renowned organizations including UL, TUV Rheinland and Intertec.
